How Carrie Underwood Is Continuing Her Workout Routine While Pregnant

Amidst the recent news of her pregnancy, Carrie Underwood has been in the limelight for more than just her music. After sparking a conversation on fertility and subsequently announcing her own pregnancy, she also shared her personal experience with multiple miscarriages. Despite these hurdles, Underwood's fitness trainer, Erin Oprea, assures that the singer is doing incredibly well. In an interview with Us Weekly, Oprea disclosed how Underwood manages to maintain her fitness routine during her pregnancy. "We continue with numerous lunges, squats, and exercises focused on glutes, hips, and booty," Oprea informed the magazine. The intensity of her workouts has been reduced, refraining from high-impact exercises such as jumping and sprints. However, she's incorporating sumo squats and lunges into her daily routine. "We're still utilizing dumbbells; executing curls and shoulder presses," added Oprea during her conversation with Us Weekly.

Carrie Underwood's current pregnancy workout regime isn't drastically different from what she followed during her first pregnancy with 3-year-old Isaiah, for which she also paired up with Oprea. Her routine eliminated high-impact exercises and instead incorporated activities like hitting punching bags, completing pull-ups, and weightlifting - though now she prefers more repetitions with fewer weights. (A point to note, Underwood doesn’t beat herself up if she misses a workout session, and neither should you.) Remember, every pregnancy is unique, so Underwood's routine may not be suitable for all. However, once you have your doctor's approval, it's absolutely safe and advantageous to maintain an exercise routine during pregnancy (as long as modifications are made, and you don't attempt anything unusual for you).
